Application Engineer with strong entrepreneurship skills - Simulation Software - US (Ohio flexible location)


Our client is specialized in simulation process integration and numerical design optimization. The company is a simulation innovation partner to manufacturers in automotive, aerospace and other engineering-intense industries. Our client is a Belgian Company, part of a Japanese Group, with HQ in Belgium. Their international high-level Engineers participate to one of the cutting-edge innovative on-line software.

To reinforce their team, they’re urgently looking for an adventurer US-based talented and self-motivated Application Engineer with strong entrepreneurship skills. The office is currently located Mason, Ohio.

Job description

The job aims at supporting the Business Development team developing and supporting Optimus and ID8 business in Automotive, aerospace and other clients ‘activities.

Your main responsibilities will include

1. Pre-Sales activities

Contribute to the pre-sales activities in the field of process automation and design optimization (PIDO). Their goal is that every prospect receives a timely and high-quality information about their products Optimus or id8 in order to help him/her deciding that Optimus or id8 is the appropriate solution for his/her company.

Working closely with the sales team of our client to identify the prospect needs and demonstrate the added value of their solutions to the prospect.

Contribute to the elaboration of the pre-sales material, consisting of product presentations, application presentations and software demonstration cases.

2. Post-Sales activities (Customer Support Services)

Participate to the hotline, technical support services and training activities of the company. Their goal is that every customer, every user, every colleague and every external software partner or distributor receives a timely and high-quality reply / technical note / training when contacting their client regarding the use of the software or regarding PIDO in general. Keep the sales representatives systematically informed of the post-sales activities related to his accounts.

3. Consulting activities

Next to the training activities mentioned in 2, contribute to the service and consulting activities including benchmarks, deployment projects, on-site projects, etc.

The Application Engineer works tightly with different customers, beginning from project planning, in-time-execution to reporting.

4. Contribute to the marketing activities

Contribute to the marketing activities (webinars, papers, conferences) by providing presentations (orally or content) in collaboration with the marketing team.

5. Product Feedback

As privileged user of Optimus & id8 and as privileged contact with prospects, customers & partners, provide feedback on the product itself to the Product Manager and document this feedback in the internal tracking systems.

Contribute to the product documentations.

You are a promising candidate, you ideally have …

  • Master or PhD in Mechanical or Material Engineering with an emphasis on numerical simulation or related
  • Full working proficiency in English: written and spoken
  • 3 - 6 years of experience of industrial experience using CAE / FEA Software
  • A first Application Engineer experience including involvement in Sales Process.
  • Strong knowledge in CAE applications and related projects and innovation
  • Organisation, optimisation of manufacturing process technologies with numerical tools
  • Very good moderation/presentation skills and a confident appearance
  • Quality and efficiency of simulation tools for the automotive and engineering sectors
  • Ambitious, self-motivated, fast-learner and adventurer with strong entrepreneurship skills
  • Quick learning, problem solving and organizational skills with ability to work under pressure
  • SME-minded. Drive for innovation and excellence
