Hardware Engineer / Signal Processing - Medical Device (Mont-Saint-Guibert)

Located in Laguna Hills, California, USA, and Mont St-Guibert, Belgium, our client is a thriving, fast-paced development company with an entrepreneurial environment.

They are prepared to revolutionize the management of diabetes. They are developing the world’s first opto-enzymatic Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM), a low-cost sensor in the form of a disposable patch, that combines an enzymatic chemical reaction with laser light to measure blood-glucose. This CGM communicates with a smartphone or smartwatch to deliver measurements and alerts and to provide insights to diabetics to better manage their disease.

They envision a world where the effort of diabetes management does not consume the lives of people living with diabetes, as well as those who care for them: Less thinking. Less worrying. More doing. This principle is at the core of the development of their solution.

Leveraging their innovative and unique technology, the company is committed to developing and commercializing a revolutionary Continuous Glucose Monitoring solution, which will be deeply rooted in users’ individual needs, and shaped by the overall healthcare system, aiming to define a new standard of care in the management of diabetes.

To reinforce their team, we are currently looking for a talented experienced Hardware Engineer.

In this role, you will help create intelligent, adaptive products by applying sensor data analysis and embedded algorithms to systems that measure glucose dynamics in the body. More particularly, you daily tasks will notably be:

  • Write test protocols to conduct relevant test to evaluate the sensor
  • Analyze data collected through our different systems and present a comprehensive report (matlab, or other scientific software)
  • Set up a strategy to evaluate the sensor resolution/range to match iCGM requirements
  • Set up a strategy to evaluate the performances/characterization of each component of the sensor
  • Provide a design calculations
  • Provide testing tool/fixture to evaluate HW component performances
  • Design and test the algorithm to evaluate the lifetime, glucose, …
  • Write and provide C libraries to the embedded team, including algorithm optimization
  • Provide general support in electrical engineering
  • Provide general support in mathematical/statistical engineering

  • Master’s degree (or PhD) in electronics, computer science or related
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar function
  • Full proficiency in English is a requirement, other languages appreciated
  • Strong knowledge in Matlab or similar analysis tools
  • Experience with sensor system and algorithm design on embedded platforms
