R&D Manager - Surgical Simulation Platform

Orthopedic surgeons and doctors currently have no reliable approaches to analyze foot and ankle pathologies and evaluate the chances of success of treatment options.

Modern digital health and simulation technologies make it feasible to address these challenges.

Their ambition is to dramatically transform and improve patient treatment and outcome by providing Health Care Professionals, surgeons, patients, and medical device companies with a state-of-the-art Clinical Decision and surgical simulation support system for musculoskeletal pathologies.

They are working on the development of a surgical planning support service that will provide a reliable, prompt answer to the orthopedic surgeon based on medical imaging and patient record.

They assist health care professionals, orthopedic surgeons, patients involved in the treatment of musculoskeletal pathologies to identify the optimum treatment and surgical therapeutic plan for each patient.

They also assist medical device companies with a mechanism for virtual clinical studies for testing implants and prosthetic ankles.

Our client contributes to the success of precision medicine by targeting the most efficient personally tailored clinical treatment.

Their team combine engineering and 3D simulation capabilities with in-depth medical expertise provided by the co-founders and our international expert board. They are all working in a concerted effort to accomplish the same mission.

  • Develop a surgical platform for the numerical simulation of the foots and ankle based on multi-body and finite elements simulation tools.
  • Participate to CE-mark process for the platform developed by the company.
  • Work in close collaboration with the IT, quality and clinical advisors of the company.


  • Lead the development team of the surgical simulation platform
  • Manage development projects autonomously, including planning and specification of the task, building trust and regular reporting.
  • Facilitate timely and accurate communication flow with stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement consistent working and Quality Assurance processes.
  • Ensure that activities are completed to cost, time and quality and assist sales and support team in meeting customer requirements.


  • PhD or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering (structural, material, …).
  • At least 10 years' experience in numerical simulations for structural analysis.
  • Excellent attention to detail and established organizational skills.
  • Demonstration of flexibility, professionalism and good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work responsibly and independently
  • Good communication & active listening
  • Advanced level of English and French


  • Experience with non-linear finite element analysis software, especially ABAQUS.
  • Experience in project management or software development
  • Good programming skills languages (C++, Python, FORTRAN)
  • Biomechanical skills/knowledge is a plus.
  • Experience in material characterization is a plus.
