Laboratory Coordinator - Immunology - Gosselies

Our client is a high-potential CRO based in Gosselies, Belgium. This fast-growing company offers a wide range of Immunology services with a strong commitment to develop customized solutions for its clients.

The offerings include in vitro assays to assess the immunogenic potential of test molecules using T cell activation and proliferation assays as a surrogate marker for the induction of Anti-Drug-Antibodies. On the immuno-oncology side, our client develops in vitro assays to assess the functionality of candidates. They continuously develops new cellular immunoassays to assist biotech and pharma companies directly in their product development. Other such collaborative services include protocol optimization and in-house training.

Role

As Laboratory Coordinator, you will work in close relationship with the Director of Operations and will be responsible for overseeing the work performed in the laboratory. You will be responsible for organizing and controlling all aspects of the laboratory environment ensuring the timely completion of experiments and to ensure the smooth and safe operation of the R&D Laboratory. Finally you will be strongly involved in the establishment of continuous improvement strategies to enhance general lab processes and increase the overall quality, efficiency and productivity.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and organize lab work in such a way that projects are completed on time;
    • Anticipate and overcome any potential issues, conflicting priorities and resource forecast inaccuracies, by noting them beforehand and informing project leader
    • Optimize planning (of people, materials and equipment) to run projects as efficiently as possible
  • Make sure the work is completed as planned, and take corrective actions if needed
  • Ensure overall lab quality through:
    • Use of standard methods; procedures, worksheets by all team members and for all experiments
    • Coordination of continuous improvement initiatives to maintain an overall high level of quality (procedures, techniques, equipment, safety…)
    • Training of lab users
    • Ensuring that the laboratory is cleaned/sanitized and kept in an orderly manner
    • Making sure that all equipment is functioning properly by organizing maintenance/calibration/repair as needed
  • Manage procurement processes and coordinate material and resources allocation
  • Willingness and ability to participate in all lab activities whenever needed

Profile

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master or PhD in Immunology, Biology, Pharmaceutical Science, or equivalent by experience
  • min. 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Leadership and organizational skills
  • Outstanding communication and inter-personal skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and anticipation ability
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Excellent English and French (written and spoken) skills
  • Experience in working with customers and service providers is a plus
  • Strong background in bioassay development is a plus
