R&D Engineer - Medical Device - Brussels


Our client is a non-profit organisation based in Brussels which is a research center and which aims to support medical device projects submitted by doctors. This collaborative platform involve physicians and engineers. These strong interactions and co-creation enable fast development of medical devices. Focus on R&D in therapeutic endoscopy, projects are led from idea to patient. Their innovative and dynamic team are looking for new people to join them and meet the challenges.

The position consists of integrating the R&D team responsible for developing innovative products form the idea of the physicians up to the use in clinic.


  • Assure the Design and Development of medical devices from the customer requirements to the use in clinic including :
    • Prototyping
    • Technical reporting and documentation
    • Technical requirements definition
    • Product design
    • Risks analysis
    • Verification testing
    • Management of manufacturing
  • Assure the tasks for maintaining and improving lab facilities.
  • Contribute to team effort in the different project phases and day-to-day tasks.


  • You hold a master in mechanical engineering, electronics or biomedical engineering
  • You have 4 to 6 years of experience as an R&D Engineer
  • Experience of CAD/CAM (Solidworks) and office software.
  • Good understanding of English (written).
  • Good knowledge in Design/Verification tests/Manufacturing techniques.
  • Manual skills for building prototypes.
  • Proper skills in technical reporting and documentation.
  • Knowledge of the medical device industry is a plus.
  • Good organizational capabilities associated with an excellent adaptation skills and proactivity to fit with a dynamic start-up environment.
  • Good qualities for creativity and brainstorming. Open-mind oriented.
  • You are not afraid to present solutions and come up with ideas.
