Service & Operations Technician - Medical Device - Liège

Our client is a European medical device company active in the field of interventional cardiology specialized in improving the clinical outcome of patients with impaired cardiac function (specifically acute myocardial infarction).

The company has developed a technology which is a unique class III proprietary technology that consists of a console, catheter, and some ancillary devices.

The company has already received CE Mark for its proprietary catheter and console and expects approval from FDA to initiate a pivotal Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) study in the next 9 months, having also received 'fast track’ Breakthrough designation from the FDA in 2020.

Our client offers a culturally diverse English-speaking working environment. The European Headquarters are based in Awans near Liege, Belgium.

Reporting to the VP Manufacturing, the Service & Operations Technician/Engineer is in charge of maintenance, manufacturing and logistics activities. The position’s main responsibilities are:

• Organize and perform service and testing
• Create and improve test documents and reports
• Organize, support and perform the installation, service, and repair activities, occasionally on site, mainly in Europe and the US
• Review and approve procedures, as required
• Organize and support logistic activities (e.g. shipments, returns, warehouse),
• Generate and review quality and traceability documents,
• Ensure test equipment is maintained (calibrated and where required validated),
• Identify and submit non compliances for approval and take appropriate action where required

• • Bachelor in preferably electronics or in a mechatronics, bio-medical or electromechanical orientation
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position
  • Relevant technical competence with hand-on skills,
  • Excellent command (verbal and written) in English. Good knowledge of any other language is an asset,
  • Ability to plan, organize and execute activities in a relevant field (e.g. installation, maintenance, servicing or testing),
  • Experienced computer user well at ease with Office and Windows,
  • Experience in electronics/electrical systems production, installation or maintenance in highly controlled environment (e.g. medical, aviation, automotive) is a plus,
  • Experience in service and maintenance processes and techniques,
  • Experience in manufacturing processes and techniques,
  • Knowledge of safety and compliance management processes is a plus,
  • Experience with medical device regulations (ISO 13485, MDR, FDA, etc) is a plus.
