For more than 20 years, Unisensor has been a pioneer in diagnostic engineering by developing rapid testing solutions for food safety. To continue our expansion, we are looking for a:


  1. Role & responsibilities

In this role, you will manage the Raw Material experts as well as plan and supervise the activities within the team. The main accountabilities of the Raw Materials Team are the following :

  • Development, scale-up and routine production of gold nanoparticles, gold-antibody nanoconjugates, “protein-hapten” and “antibody-fluorophore” conjugates ;
  • Documentation management and Quality Control of the abovementioned conjugates as well as incoming biological raw materials (proteins, antibodies, receptors, …).

As a Team Leader, your main tasks will include :

  • Define team objectives in accordance with Unisensor Business Units and Strategic Management Committee ;
  • Interact with internal customers (Business Units) in order to meet their raw material needs in a timely manner ;
  • Propose new ideas and guide the team through the development of novel conjugates for improved detection kits ;
  • Review the documentation associated with conjugate production batches and ensure traceability ;
  • Draft and review production/QC protocols as well as other mandatory quality management documents ;
  • Propose and implement new pertinent IPC/QC tests for incoming raw materials and conjugates ;
  • Monitor and analyze IPC/QC data using control charts or alternative statistical tools ;
  • Plan troubleshooting activities in case of out-of-trend/out-of-specification results ;
  • Initiate and manage product non-conformities as well as change controls ;
  • Interact with external suppliers (biologicals and chemicals) ;
  • Ensure that Good Laboratory Practices are applied and production protocols followed ;
  • Supervise a team of approx. 6-7 people ;
  • Manage HR aspects within the team (illness, holidays, performance evaluation,…) ;
  • Be in close contact with the team on a daily basis and organize team meetings.



To be considered for this role, you will ideally have :

  • A Master degree (PhD preferred) in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Biotechnology with at least 5 years industry experience in an R&D and/or production environment;
  • Technical knowledge in organic chemistry, ideally with strong background in bioconjugation techniques and protein chemistry ;
  • Experience in working with proteins, antibodies and receptors ;
  • Practice in data analysis and monitoring using statistical tools ;
  • Knowledge of immunoassays ;
  • Proven track record in people management ; willing to lead a team performing very diverse activities and interacting with numerous internal customers ;
  • Experience working with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001) ;
  • Good presentation and communication skills ;
  • Proficiency in French and English, both oral and written.

Following skills would be considered as strong assets :

  • Any working experience in nanoparticle synthesis ;
  • Knowledge of relevant IPC/QC methods for incoming raw materials and in-house produced conjugates : MALDI, UV-Vis, ELISA, DLS, Octet K2 (ForteBio), … ;
  • Experience with the development of lateral flow immunoassays.
