Guidelines on cookies

The consultation of the PlusOne SRL website is accompanied by the collection of personal data by means of cookies or similar technologies.

1. What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file saved by the browser on the user's computer/smartphone/tablet when visiting websites. The use of cookies allows websites to function as efficiently and simply as possible.

Each user manages and controls their cookies at all times from their browser settings and can delete them when they leave the website they have just visited. If a user disables cookies in their browser, they will be able to view the vast majority of the content of the PlusOne SRL website, but the optimal functioning of the PlusOne SRL services may still be affected.

2. What kind of cookies are we talking about?

There are different types of cookies. Some are necessary for the proper functioning of a website, others serve to improve and/or simplify its use:

  • Cookies that are strictly necessary for the functioning of the sites;
  • Functional cookies;
  • Authentication cookies;
  • Performance cookies;
  • Targeting/third party cookies.

Cookies strictly necessary for the functioning of the PlusOne SRL websites. These cookies do not collect any information about the user that can be used for marketing purposes and are essential for using the PlusOne SRL sites. These cookies are exempt from the consent requirement, in accordance with Article 129 of the Electronic Communications Act of 13 June 2005 (see points 3.1. et seq. of Opinion 04/2012 of Group 29, an independent European advisory body comprising members of the various national personal data protection authorities on exceptions to the consent requirement for cookies.

Functional cookies are used to store the user's connection data, to secure the user's connection to the PlusOne SRL websites, to provide live assistance. These cookies do not collect any information about the user that can be used for marketing purposes. These cookies are also exempt from the consent requirement, (see points 3.1. and 3.3. of the above-mentioned notice).

Authentication cookies allow users to identify themselves and access secure content. These cookies do not collect any information about the user that can be used for marketing purposes. These cookies are also exempt from the consent requirement (see point 3.2 of the above-mentioned notice).

Performance cookies allow PlusOne SRL to collect information about how users navigate the COMPANY websites, and to adapt and improve its websites, if necessary. PlusOne SRL is not able to identify users using this type of cookies, and all data collected by these cookies are processed anonymously. These cookies do not collect any information about the user that can be used for marketing purposes. These cookies are placed and used on the basis of consent given by the user.

Targeting/third party cookies. PlusOne SRL sometimes carries out advertising campaigns, in particular by using third parties who may sometimes place cookies (or similar technologies) in order to evaluate the success of the campaign, or to show targeted advertising adapted to the interests of the users, or to limit the number of views per user. For example, links to social networks or to videos hosted on Youtube are third parties that may place cookies on the PlusOne SRL websites. These cookies are placed and used on the basis of the consent given by the user.

When a user refuses the use of this type of cookies, only the pages and services that do not require these cookies can be presented, viewed and used. The parts of the PlusOne SRL websites that technically allow the inclusion of third party content - and therefore third party cookies - will no longer be accessible and a message will inform users of this.

A distinction must also be made between:

  • Session cookies; and
  • Permanent cookies.

Session cookies are automatically deleted from the user's computer hard drive or browser memory when the user logs out and/or closes the browser.

Permanent cookies are stored on the user's computer hard drive or browser memory for a limited period of time (minutes, days or years) after logging out or closing the browser.

The table below details the cookies used on the COMPANY website and the cookies used by third parties.
